Magoebaskloof explosion: The day after
A day after the R71 explosion, the road has been cleared and traffic is flowing. Aerial footage taken during the fire shows the affected area.
TZANEEN – A day after the Mageobaskloof R71 explosion, the aftermath is unmistakable: scorched forest slopes, a scarred mountainside, and a blackened trail of destruction where flames raged just a day earlier.
Despite the charred landscape, the road has since been cleared, and traffic is once again flowing through the area thanks to the efforts of the Letaba Fire Protection, Tzaneen Fire Brigade, SARZA Limpopo, and Disaster Management & Tzaneen Emergency Support.
The Letaba Fire Protection Association captured aerial footage of the area yesterday as crews worked to douse the flames.
