Leopard caught slipping through Hoedspruit fence

Villiers Steyn's footage shows a leopard slipping under a fence in Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, showing his skill at outsmarting barriers with ease.

HOEDSPRUIT – Wildlife photographer Villiers Steyn recently captured remarkable footage of a leopard named Mafu in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate.

The video shows the big male leopard effortlessly removing rocks from beneath a fence before slipping under and out with ease.

Steyn explained that Mafu regularly roams across the estate’s 600 hectares and the adjoining property to the south, often using holes in the fence to move between the two.

“Every now and again, these holes get filled up by estate security,” Steyn said. “But this video shows you that nothing will keep a leopard in or out.”
