Rhino Warrior Challenge thrills adventurers in Hoedspruit

Adventure enthusiasts gear up for the Rhino Warrior Challenge, tackling obstacles to raise awareness and funds anti-poaching initiatives.

HOEDSPRUIT – Adventure enthusiasts are gearing up for the annual Rhino Warrior Challenge, an intense obstacle race aimed at raising money and awareness in the fight against rhino poaching.

The event will take place at the Protrack Camp and Thirsty Giraffe Pub and Grill in Hoedspruit on Saturday, September 27.

The challenge promises an action-packed course that includes running, climbing, crawling, jumping, and navigating wild obstacles.

Participants can expect mud, sweat, challenging heights of up to 10 metres, and even flying paintballs, all adding to the excitement of the race.

Organised in partnership with Protrack Anti-Poaching Unit, the event is open to participants aged 15 and older. Proceeds from the race will go toward supporting anti-poaching operations in the region.

T W O   R A C E  O P T I O N S :

· Rhino Warrior Team Race: Teams of four will tackle a 5km obstacle course. Entry is R400 per person and includes an official race garment.

· Ultra Rhino Warrior: This 15km race is open to individuals or teams of two. Entry is R450 per person, also including a race garment.

Participants will be released in staggered intervals, with the first group starting at 06:30.

Registration must be completed in person at the Protrack office on Friday, September 26, between 09:00 and 16:00. Organisers have confirmed that no late entries will be accepted.

The Rhino Warrior Challenge is not just a test of physical endurance; it is a call to action. Every step taken on the course contributes to the protection of South Africa’s endangered rhino population.
