Mopani minor (5) sexually assaulted, police seek information
Phalaborwa officials appeal to community members for information after a mother discovered injuries consistent with rape on her daughter.

PHALABORWA – The Phalaborwa Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is urgently seeking information from the public to assist in tracing the person responsible for the sexual assault of a five-year-old girl in Lulekani.
According to Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the child complained of pain around her private parts while being bathed by her mother. The mother then checked the area and saw what appeared to be injuries consisted with sexual assault.
The child was taken to a doctor for examination the following day where the assault was confirmed and the mother was advised to report the incident.
A case of rape was subsequently opened and has been transferred to the Phalaborwa FCS Unit for specialised investigation.
Police are appealing to community members of Lulekani Location and surrounding areas to come forward with any information that may assist in identifying and apprehending the perpetrator.
