Community comes together for Frangipani’s concert

Phalaborwa united for a fundraising concert supporting Frangipani School, raising funds to upgrade classrooms, playgrounds, and learning spaces.

PHALABORWA –  A concert with a cause stole the spotlight in Phalaborwa as Frangipani School for Differently-Abled Children brought the community together for a night of entertainment and impact, all in support of children with diverse learning needs.

The fundraising event, held on November 28, at Hoërskool Frans du Toit, not only delivered a memorable evening but served as a powerful reminder of what a united community can achieve.

The school hosted the concert as part of its mission to provide a nurturing, specialised learning environment for children with diverse developmental and educational challenges. The initiative was organised in collaboration with Phillipson Creative Solutions, reflecting a deep commitment to improving the school’s facilities and resources.

The primary goal of the event was to raise funds for upgrades to classrooms, the playground, and other learning spaces.

“We regularly look for community-focused fundraising opportunities that also allow us to showcase the incredible potential of our learners. A concert combines entertainment, community involvement, and support for a meaningful cause,” said a school representative.

All proceeds from the event will go toward improving the school environment, with a major focus on revamping the playground.

Plans include safer structures, sensory play zones, and accessible equipment to accommodate the diverse needs of learners. Funds will also support classroom improvements and specialised learning materials, designed to create an inclusive and stimulating environment.

The concert drew an estimated 350–400 attendees, who enjoyed a highlight performance by artist Ruhan du Toit. The evening also featured food stalls from local organisations, a vibrant atmosphere filled with community pride, and a live raffle draw with six lucky winners.

The school expressed gratitude to its sponsors, whose contributions were instrumental to the concert’s success.

These included ATKV-Eiland Spa, Bushbaby Adventures, Swadini Forever Resort, Sefapane Lodge and Safaris, Makhoma, Campmore Outdoor, Halali Wilderness Private Game Ranch, Zander Osmers Safaris, MJM Electrical, Lucid Scaffolding, Route 71, Villa Luso, Frans du Toit, Little 5 Camp, MBA Security, MICA, Coastal Hire, Lenkay Motors Phalaborwa, Engen Phalaborwa, Kapama Private Game Reserve, and The Venue Hire.
