Disciplinary issues highlighted at BLFA football meeting
BLFA and Cafa discussed discipline, upcoming tournaments and football development at a meeting in Bushbuckridge.
HOEDSPRUIT – Disciplinary challenges within local football structures were a key focus at a Bushbuckridge Local Football Association (BLFA) meeting held on Thursday afternoon in Thulamahashe, attended by Central Acornhoek Football Association (Cafa) leadership.

The meeting, held at the Bohlabela Chambers offices, brought together representatives from BLFA-affiliated associations and leagues and formally introduced Cafa chairman Sipho Dzimba and treasurer Cynthia Mathebula.
Focus on discipline and upcoming events
Discussions centred on disciplinary issues in country leagues, audit reports and preparations for upcoming events, including the BLFA’s AGM, the Mayor’s Cup launch, and the Ehlanzeni District Municipality/TS Galaxy FC Talent Identification Tournament.
Coaches recognised for development
Development initiatives were also acknowledged, with certificates awarded to local coaches who recently completed coaching courses.
Cafa outlines progress and challenges
Dzimba briefed the meeting on Cafa’s progress since its establishment late last year, noting both achievements and challenges.
He thanked BLFA for entrusting Cafa with the administration of local promotional and development leagues, despite the dominance of informal football in the area.
Growth in promotional league
He said the Cafa Men’s Promotional League has grown steadily, attracting interest from teams, coaches, and potential sponsors, and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to improving standards and ensuring compliance with football regulations.
