Police launch manhunt after woman murdered on Mooketsi farm

Modjadjiskloof police have launched a manhunt after a 40-year-old woman was found murdered on a farm in Mooketsi, Mopani District.

LIMPOPO – Modjadjiskloof police in the Mopani District have launched a manhunt for a known male suspect following the murder of a 40-year-old woman at a farm in Mooiwater, Mooketsi, on Saturday, May 2.

According to police reports, officers responded to a complaint of murder at the farm.

On arrival, the farm manager directed them to the scene where the body of a 40-year-old Zimbabwean national was found inside her bedroom with visible injuries to her forehead.

Emergency medical services were called to the scene and the woman was declared dead on arrival.

Preliminary investigations have identified a person of interest, Joshua Mpape, who police believe may assist in the investigation.

The motive for the killing is currently unknown.

Police have urged members of the public with information that may assist in locating the suspect to contact the investigating officer, Sgt Edna Maenetsa, on 082 319 9764, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or report to the nearest police station. Information can also be submitted via the MySAPS App.

Police investigations are ongoing.
