ActionSA names Ponani Makhubele as Giyani mayoral candidate

ActionSA has named Ponani Makhubele as its mayoral candidate for Giyani Municipality, alongside four other candidates for Limpopo municipalities.

LIMPOPO – Ponani Makhubele has been announced as ActionSA’s mayoral candidate for Giyani Municipality.

She was unveiled alongside four other mayoral candidates for Tzaneen, Greater Letaba, Makhado and Mopani District municipalities by ActionSA national leader Herman Mashaba at Bulamahlo Community Hall in Tzaneen on Saturday, July 11.

A familiar face in Giyani

Makhubele, the party’s provincial Women’s League leader, has been active in Giyani, assisting residents with service delivery issues.

She said her priority is to tackle corruption, ensure transparent procurement processes and make sure development projects benefit local communities without contractors being paid upfront.

Restoring hope to the community

She said her nomination also presents an opportunity to serve the people of Giyani, support child-headed households and restore hope to unemployed women.

“My intentions include restoring the dignity of men and women who spend days sleeping on hospital chairs while waiting for assistance,” she said.
