Champion golfer of 2017
The championship was contested in three divisions and over 36 holes where the champion man and woman were crowned
Saturday March 4 saw the Drakensig Golfers compete for the champion golfer of 2017.
The newly crowned champion in the men’s category and overall champion went to Francois Van Staden and the ladies champion is once again Greer Smith.
The winners of the other divisions where Kevin Drake (B division), and Christine Kruger (C division).
Meanwhile over the first 18 holes, the monthly medal was contested and again over the 3 divisions and the winners were: Peter Dorey (A division), Kevin Drake (B division), and Barry Barnett (C division).
The overall position for the medal went to Kevin Drake in first place on 70 net followed by Barry Barnett in second place on 72 net and Christine Kruger in third on 73 net.
Two clubs on the day went to Gavin Olivier and closest to the pin on 4th and 13th was Harry Van Staden and Peter Dorey was closest on 7th and 16th.
The next monthly medal will be held at the Drakensig Golf club on April 1.
