Nkowankowa Cricket Club among the best in SA

The Nkowankowa Cricket Club has set a high standard for the sport in Limpopo after receiving ‘blue flag status’ from Cricket South Africa (CSA).

This makes them the first team in the province to reach the milestone.
Blue flag status is a CSA recognition given to clubs that drive the objectives and the CSA club cricket aims. The criteria used to select eligible clubs is based on administration capabilities, adequate facilities, a minimum number of teams and suitably qualified coaches.

Some of the teams that have received the status include the University of Witwatersrand Cricket Club, the Wanderers Cricket Club and the Victoria Cricket Club among other teams in the country. Coach Lordwick Mhlongo told the Herald that they are pleased with the achievement as it will open many doors.
