VIN hikes mountain to encourage matrics

Vutivi I Ndzhaka (VIN) a non-profit organisation (NPO), hosted their annual fundraiser hiking the Marafana mountain.

This event takes place every year in December. VIN was established in 2012 by academics from Mulati, Mafarana, Ntsako, Bonn, and Sedan villages. They provide mentoring and coaching support to matriculants from the five villages.

After the hike members watched a soccer match between United Masters FC and Mulati Soccer Stars. United won the game 1-0. VIN’s support covers personal growth, academic assistance, career guidance, life skills, and preparing for tertiary education and life beyond.

Every year the organisation also hosts an awards ceremony for Grade 12 learners who performed well in the final exams. The learners are rewarded with cash prizes and electronic devices with the aim is to motivate learners who are in lower grades to excel academically
