Majeje Tribal Authority hosts netball tourney in Phalaborwa

The Majeje Tribal Authority hosted a netball tournament in Ba-Phalaborwa, featuring senior and u/15 teams.

LIMPOPO – The Majeje Tribal Authority recently hosted an exciting netball tournament in the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality, drawing teams from across the region.

The event showcased eight senior teams and four u/15 teams competing fiercely for top honours.

In the senior category, the Majeje team emerged victorious, defeating the Impalas 15-8.

In the u/15 category, the Impalas triumphed decisively with a 25-2 win against the Dynamite junior netball team.

Both winning teams were awarded trophies, medals, and certificates in recognition of their achievements.

Event organiser Difference Ndlovu expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and highlighted the initiative’s purpose.

“The main aim of the event is to remove our young girls from trouble by encouraging them to do something constructive. We want netball to become fashionable in our communities, and as a result, we are busy working on establishing a league which will play throughout the year,” he said.

Ayonda Ceko, another organiser and a player for the Impalas, shared that their team, which trains at Impala Park Stadium, is open for new members.
