Local rally crews bring home the silverware
Local driver Eddie Simpson and Pretoria based navigator Isabel Raath in a Opel Corsa finished sixth overall and first in class D.
The fifth round of the ARRO / WOMSA national rally championship took place on Saturday in Kwazulu Natal.
The first of 38 cars was flagged off at 09:00 to tackle the eight special stages held in the Pine plantations and sugar cane fields in the Dalton area 50km South of Pietermaritzburg.
Local driver Eddie Simpson and Pretoria based navigator Isabel Raath in a Opel Corsa finished sixth overall and first in class D while local navigator Louis Menge and Gauteng driver Anton Raath brought their VW Golf home in fifth position.

Mr. Consistent Peter Pilusa from Tzaneen with navigator Willem Morgan enjoyed another trouble free run in their ultra reliable Nissan Sentra.
A third in class C and 13th overall was a just reward for this pairing. Pilusa would like to thank TVR Panel Beaters, BF Petroleum and Midas Tzaneen for their support. Twenty nine of the original 38 starters made it to the finish at the Aintree Lodge which also hosted the prize giving function.
The final round of the championship takes place on February 22 and 23, 2019.
