Ntwanano cycles for 427km all in the name of charity

Cyclist, Ntwanano Ngobeni made history when he cycled from Tshwane to Nwamitwa outside Tzaneen all in the name of charity recently.

Ngobeni and a friend, Oupa Mabunda rode a total distance of 427km for three days.

After seeing a number of his community members living in lack, he vowed to himself to not seat back and watch them suffer.

Ngobeni was inspired to establish a project called ‘Ahi akaneni campaign’ which means let’s build each other, where they accumulate funds to donate to the community.

The two friends succeeded in raising funds through the cycling challenge from local businesses, community members and friends.

They bought groceries for 10 families from Joppie, Mavele and Runnymede who were blessed with the donations.

The pair made Mavabaza Primary School their final stop where they officially handed over the donations to the family.

“Even though we didn’t manage to raise the funds we expected, we are however grateful to all the people who assisted us and we are still going to cycle again next year,” Ngobeni explained.

He also passed words of gratitude to all his  sponsors, colleagues and all their friends and family including community members in general.
