SLC vs Louis Trichardt
Stanford Lake College's First and U15 Teams played cricket against Louis Trichardt at Stanford on August 20.
1st XI: Louis Trichardt won the toss and decided to bat first. Stanford soon had them in trouble and they did not recover and were bowled out for 117.
Matthew Maritz took four wickets, Jason Wright and Christian Schmidt taking two wickets each. Stanford lost early wickets.
Justyn Trueman and Matthew Maritz came together and put on a good partnership – Justyn scoring 57 not out and Matthew Maritz 23.
Benno Prinsloo added 20 not out off six balls to finish the game off. It was a good performance by the 1st XI, well done!
U/15s : Stanford won the toss and decided to bowl first. Stanford were strong in the field and bowled them out for 55 runs.
Thomas Mayes helped with good bowling and took 2 wickets for 14 runs in seven overs.
Lance Trueman bowled exceptionally well and took seven wickets for five runs after seven overs, taking a hat-trick by dismissing the last three batsmen.
This is the first hat-trick of the season by Stanford’s cricketers! Stanford went in to bat and only needed four batsmen to reach the small total which they chased down in 17 overs scoring 57 runs for the loss of only two wickets.
Kyle Bain scored 14 not out and Jackson Ndhlovu 9 not out. It was a super performance by the U/15 team winning by eight wickets. Well done, boys.
