Felicia launches books in style

Multitalented, Felicia Rikhotso hosted a glamorous book launch at Phosphate Hall in Namakgale recently.

She officially launched her new book, Swihungwani, a Xitsonga poetry book. She also unveiled a new surprise book titled ‘Fear Not’ which aims to teach people how to overcome fear through faith. Rikhotso has been writing from a young age and her first book, The Maths Psycho, an English novel, was published in 2017. Three years later she published a Christian book, Pulpits and Young People, and a collection of poems, Poetic Journey of Love & Life.

The launch showcased all five of her books. Rikhotso, who is a police officer, looked stunning on the day, making a grand entrance dressed in her dusty pink and blue ball gown. The event was attended by friends, family, book lovers and she invited learners from her former high school, Vuxeni High School, who are interested in writing, to inspire them to dream even bigger. The event was hosted by comedian and Tiktoker Collen and actor, Just JB, and various musicians entertained the guests.

Rikhotso and her friends changed into traditional attires, dressed in xibelana skirt and doeks, ready to dance the night away. “What stood out for me on the day, is seeing the smiles and joy on my friends and family’s faces, it meant the world to me. This is not the end, there are more books in the near future. I might do a collaboration with the learners, just to inspire them to see that they can also publish their poems in a book.
