The Tarries Cycling Track has become a hideout for criminals and the homeless.
Not only have several cyclists been attacked, robbed and stabbed, but a visit to the track this morning showed that crime suspects are hiding there.

The Middelburg Observer went to the track with eight members of Titon Security where they came across three men and a shelter where people are staying.
Inside the shelter there were handbags and duffel bags with items such as car keys, consoles, a Garmin and memory sticks.
Motorists driving nearby cannot see the well-hidden plastic house at all.
Councillor San-Mari Wait warned residents to stay away from the area, while Middelburg Cycling Club chairman Johnny Smit also warned his members.

The saddest thing is that it is a fantastic cycling track in which the previous cycling club chairman, Jaap Beyers, spent a lot of his time and energy.
Beyers wanted, among other things, to have a clubhouse built at the track.
