Body found under bridge
The naked body of a young woman was found under the Protea Street bridge at the Klein Olifants River near Mhluzi late on Wednesday night.
Her body was bruised all over and her mouth was stuffed with a cloth.
The gruesome find was discovered by a passer-by at approximately 23:00 on Wednesday night – they alerted the police immediately.
The identity of the woman could not be established as the family is yet to identify the body which is presently at the state mortuary. A post-mortem was expected to take place by the local pathologist on Thursday to determine the cause of death.
Mhluzi SAPS stated that they are investigating the matter and no arrests have been made.
