Complaints against ABSA on the rise

There's an increasing number of customer complaints with regards to waiting times and service at ABSA Bank, affecting both branches in the CBD and Middelburg Mall.

Members of the public are frustrated at the long queues to which sometimes only two tellers assist – resulting in waiting times of up to an hour.

It is worse on Fridays and during month-end, when the banks get really busy and according to customers there seems to be no end in sight.

An ABSA Bank client vented his frustrations this week, saying there are up to 14 tellers but at any given time only two tellers serve the queue.

“Waiting times would be shortened to just a few minutes if more tellers were open,” he said.

A media enquiry was sent to ABSA Bank on Monday and a full response will be published in the Middelburg Observer this Friday.
