IEC finally reveal all party candidates lists

After vigorous screening, the IEC has finally released the full candidates lists of the respective political parties contesting the August 3 local government elections.

A few surprises jumped out from the Nkangala District Municipality’s contenders, like Abahlali Bemzansi Organisation, African People’s Convention, Asisikimeni Community Development and Advice Movement, Bolsheviks Party of SA, Nkangala Forum for Service Delivery, Pan Africanist Congress of Azania, Sindawonye Progressive Party and the Nkangala United Democratic Movement.

Completing the list for the Nkangala contenders are the ANC, DA, VF+, ACDP, Cope and the EFF.

Seats for Steve Tshwete Municipality is also hotly contended with the EFF having introduced candidates in all the wards, alongside the ANC, DA, VF+ and ACDP.

Other contenders for municipal council seats include the African people’s Convention the Sindawonye Progressive Party, the United Constructive Party, and two independent candidates Piet July Mahlangu and Jabulani Mthethwa.
