Road Closure Notice
The time has arrived for the annual train race! 2 800 long distance runners will be taking on the road between eMalahleni and Middelburg on Saturday the 20th of August.
We would just like to remind the eMalahleni and the Middelburg community that the old Middelburg road (R555) will be closed to traffic from 5:00am on Saturday the 20th of August up until 14:00 on the same day.
The busses that will take the long distance runners to the respective points will depart from Witbank Station in eMalahleni and/or Springbok Ave, Middelburg from 4:00 and the last bus will leave at 5:00.
Participants who failed to collect their numbers can collect on race day at the Witbank Station for the 32km and the 15km race. The relay and fun run collection will be at the Kees Taljaard Stadium in Middelburg.
The 32km and 15km race will start at 6:00 and then relay and fun run will start at 7:00 and 7:15 respectively.
16 200 relay and fun runners will be running in the streets close to the Kees Taljaard stadium in Middelburg.
Stop/Go traffic control will be enforced whilst the race is in progress in the following affected roads in Middelburg: Van der Merwe Street, Eeufees Street, West Street, Hoop, Sections of Impala, Protea Road, Walter Sisulu Street, Koppie Street, OR Tambo and John Magagula Street.
