Video: N4 highway re-opens after tanker catches fire
The N4 highway between ALZU Petroport and Wonderfontein has re-opened following a temporary closure when a diesel tanker caught fire in the middle of the road early on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred approximately 08:30 and prompted authorities to immediately close the road to traffic.
TRAC posted the following message on Twitter:
#TRACN4route. 08:25. Petrol/Diesel Tanker on fire btw Alzu Petroport and Wonderfontein. ROAD CLOSED for your safety.

The portion of highway where the incident occurred is under heavy construction and was congested with traffic.
Fortunately no one was injured and the road re-opened at 10:00. The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
