The study is being undertaken by Mr Okuhle Sapo, who is studying towards an Honours Degree in Physical Anthropology, and ultimately to become a forensic anthropologist after obtaining his Masters.

The survey is headed by Dr Coen Nienaber, from the Department of Anatomy of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Pretoria.

Dr Nienaber is presently the Coordinator for Archaeology in the Forensic Anthropology Research Centre of the university.

Fellow Honours student, Goodness Shakoane, is also assisting with the field work. The survey which started on Tuesday, will run for the next three days.

Results, to determine whether there are indeed more graves and particularly graves of black Anglo Boer War concentration camp casualties, are only expected to be released in a month.
