National News – Train crash at train station

Paramedics this afternoon responded to a train crash at the Kaarlfontein train station in Tembisa Gauteng reported Chris Botha Media Liaison Officer - Netcare 911.

Reports from the scene indicate that two trains were traveling on the same track and collided. Exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events is still a matter for investigation.

“Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and after triaging the injured found that one man tragically died before our arrival, about 150 others sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor.”

Paramedics are stabilising the injured at the scene before they will be transporting them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
