Four armed robberies in one week

The Middelburg area has been hit with four robberies in one week.

• On Tuesday evening Queens Bottle Store in Hendrina was robbed by a group of armed men. Robbers pistol whipped a Chinese woman against the head and made off with cash, cigarettes and a cellphone.

• On Wednesday five armed men robbed Foschini’s in OR Tambo Street. Robbers fled in a white KIA in the direction of the Old Witbank Road (R555).

• On Thursday morning Incredible Connection in the Middelburg Mall was robbed. Five armed robbers entered the business armed with three duvet covers. They targeted laptops and fled via the emergency exit of the mall, dragging their loot behind them.

• Also on Thursday, police and security officers from Mid Alarms managed to trap a group of suspects inside the roof of the building that hosts Club Malibu next to the Old Pick ’n Pay building. It is suspected that they planned on robbing California Lounge Entertainment Centre. Police arrested at least six suspects.
