UPDATE: N11 blocked by Protesters
Monday morning traffic came to a stand still at the Pullenshope turn off on the N11 due to striking action.

Queues of vehicles lined up for kilometres as motorists travelling to and from Hendrina were forced to pull off.
Contract workers have aired their dissatisfaction since they have not received a cent yet for more than six months.

Fulltime employees at Optimum Colliery as well as Woestalleen Colliery were denied access to their work place.

Trucks carrying coal were pulled over by protesters and their loads were spilled onto the road to block passageway.
Several of these vehicles were also stopped in the middle of the road to create barriers.

The protest scene is currently peaceful as members of the Police Force are manning the situation.

The entrance to Optimum is still blocked as police try to clear the scene.
