VIDEO: More than 150 shots fired in early morning jewellery store heist
A small war broke out when between 15 and 20 robbers targeted Palazzo Jewellers at their mall premises early on Monday morning.
The gang broke into the store from both the front and the back, clearing out display cabinets and bombing the safe.
Outside heavily armed spotter crews covered both entrances to Dolerite Crescent.
The spotter crews opened fire on security companies with AK47’s, and R1 and R5 assault rifles.
More than 150 rounds were fired but luckily no one was injured.
At least five vehicles were used for the heist.
Video footage clearly shows how the robbers opened fire on security vehicles as they approached the store.
