Bail application postponed for stock theft suspects

The robbery and stock theft case involving 334 cattle, worth R3.1 million was seen in the Breyten Periodical Court where the five suspects appeared.

They were remanded in custody and the case has been postponed until 17 May for bail application.

Originally, 12 suspects were arrested and they appeared at the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on 9 May, wherein seven had the cases against them dropped.

The suspects who are currently in custody awaiting bail are Cornelius van der Walt (55), Jan-Spuyt Steenkamp (32), Sibusiso Mabuse (43), Lucas Magagula (35) and Vusi Mhlongo (34).
