Middelburg Mall manager Mike Tammadge said that no one was injured in the robbery. Although guards inside the mall are not armed, to ensure the safety of shoppers, armed guards are present outside the mall to assist in instances such as the current situation.

Mr Tammadge said that the last update he got was the guards were still in pursuit of the suspects and that the help of the police were called in.
