Vagrant attacks motorist at Mall

A vagrant notorious for alleged violent outbursts attacked a female motorist early this morning while she was on her way to Middelburg Mall.

According to Mr. Mike Kotze, former operational manager at Fidelity Security, his daughter’s vehicle was badly damaged after the homeless man threw rocks at her.

Mr. Kotze explained that his daughter was waiting at the traffic light to turn in to the Mall when he launched an attack on her vehicle.

“He threw the rocks through my daughter’s windscreen as well as managed to damage her rearview mirror.”

After learning of the attack, Mr. Kotze went looking for the attacker and finally managed to apprehend him on the side of the road next to Ext. 18. He was then turned over to the SAPS, who took their statements.

According to Mr. Kotze, the SAPS explained that the vagrant is mentally unstable and can therefore not be arrested but rather institutionalised.

“I just wish to alert other motorists, particularly women, to be on the lookout for him, should he be let back on the streets.”

Mr. Kotze confirmed that the vagrant is the same man, informally known as Rasta, who was previously reported on for violently attacking motorists on the streets. He also has an inclination towards spitting on people.
