Body found next to the N4 not tied to Ackermans’ robbery
Rumours that the body of one of the robbers that may have been wounded in the Midwater Ackermans’ robbery earlier today was found next to the N4 are not true.
The body, which was discovered around the time of the robbery, is already in an advanced stage of decomposition.
A robber may have been wounded in the brazen attack at Ackermans after DA councillor Damien Klopper shielded himself with one of the robbers after trying to disarm another robber.
Cllr Klopper says after he pushed the other robber in front of him, to shield himself, a shot was fired.
The gang then fled.
Cllr Klopper sustained a brutal beating in the attack but was not wounded.

According to reliable information, the decomposing body cannot be tied to the Ackermans incident, despite some of the gang members involved in the robbery fleeing from capture on the R555, an alternative route to the N4.
Cllr Klopper’s phone was traced to the R555 after the unsuccessful robbery.
The body was discovered under a road sign close to the Shell Ultra City towards eMalahleni.
It is believed that the deceased may have succumbed to the elements.
