Eastdene fire: Saverite Supermarket owner alive and safe

False rumours are being circulated on social media platforms, incorrectly stating that the Saverite Supermarket owner remained inside the store as it was burning.

Update: According to unconfirmed reports, the Saverite Supermarket owner escaped from his burning store, after being tied up by robbers.

The Middelburg Observer can confirm that this is false, as the owner is alive and safe at the scene, where he was seen giving a statement to the police.
