Dead man identified by family

The man who was found dead near Marico Street has been identified.

Ivuysi Ngezana was found dead on Saturday at about 10:15 by passersby.

He was wearing a plastic bag, which he used to keep warm, and was sleeping in the houses behind Marico Street when he passed away.

He was a suspected drug user and was transported to the state mortuary.

The family could only tell the Middelburg Observer that Mr Ngezana will be buried on Saturday.

I have been working as a journalist/photographer since 2018 at the Middelburg Observer. Before joining Caxton I was a Journalism Student at the Tshwane University of Technology. I was also a broadcasting intern at the SABC in Pretoria. In my first year as a journalist I was awarded the Upcoming Journalist of the Year at the O H Frewin awards.
