No fire! Just a drill!

Reports of a fire at the municipal town planning building are false.

Law enforcement rushed to the building on SADC Street, fearing that a fire had broken out after an alert was made on community safety groups earlier this morning.

The Middelburg Observer went to the scene to investigate and was told that the workers were conducting their annual fire drill.

I have been working as a journalist/photographer since 2018 at the Middelburg Observer. Before joining Caxton I was a Journalism Student at the Tshwane University of Technology. I was also a broadcasting intern at the SABC in Pretoria. In my first year as a journalist I was awarded the Upcoming Journalist of the Year at the O H Frewin awards.
