Traffic – pedestrian down in Keiskamma, lane closed

The shoulder lane of Keiskamma Drive near Midwater has been closed to allow medical treatment of a pedestrian.

It was initially reported that the man was injured in a hit-and-run, however, first responders later said that the man suffered an epileptic seizure, resulting in him collapsing in the road.

A white vehicle reportedly stopped to determine the well-being of the man, giving the impression that it was a hit-and-run.

The Traffic Department and members of Noodroep Radiogroep Sector 3 were first to respond to the scene, and were later joined by the SAPS and Fire Department.

By the time of the journalist’s departure, and ambulance had not het arrived and the man was still situated in the shoulder-lane of the road which was partially cordoned off.

The man’s sister was at the scene where medical treatment was being given.
