Warning: Poor visibility across Mpumalanga roads this morning

Drivers are to proceed with caution, as mist has covered roads across the province.

Update: The N4 and N12 split near the Ridge Casino and Highveld Mall has been closed, with cars making U-turns on the freeway.

All major routes in Mpumalanga have been affected by mist this morning, decreasing road visibility and increasing the chance of an accident.

It is advised drivers proceed with extreme caution while travelling this morning.

A driver told the Middelburg Observer that while on the N4 en route to Pretoria, they could not see anything over 15 metres in front of them.

The following roads are affected: N17, N11, N2, N12, and the N4.

It is advised that drivers do the following to reduce risk:

• Reduce speed.

• Put their lights on.

• Increase follow distance.

• Avoid unnecessary overtakes.
