Vandals strike at Kanonkop mini-sub

Electrical infrastructure has taken another blow by cable thieves.

Dennesig and Kanonkop residents alerted the Middelburg Observer of a vandalised mini-substation in Protea Street near the old day hospital.

According to the residents, vandals have torn out electrical cables leaving the mini-substation damaged with smoke billowing out.

DA Ward Councillor, Helda de Klerk was informed of the vandalism and has reported the damage to the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.

It has not yet been established whether the vandalism will be affecting the supply of electricity to the area.
