Middelburg’s heroes – first responders unite in John Magagula

When you see them, give them a hoot or stop to say hi.

Middelburg’s first responders have gathered in John Magagula Street for an engagement and awareness event to showcase the unity and cooperation between the town’s heroes.

All first responders, including the fire and traffic department, towing services and emergency services, among others, will be situated on the traffic island across from Middelburg Primary School throughout the day.

Hoot, stop to say hi and take photos.

According to Louwtjie Swart from Traffic Alert, the reason for the gathering is to create awareness and show unity between first responders.

These men and women are first to arrive in times of need, and motorists are urged to give them a hoot, wave, or stop to say hi and take a photo when they drive past.

Residents are encouraged to take photos and share it with Dieter Coersmeier on 072 554 7223. A biltong hamper is up for grabs for the best photo.
