WATCH: Doornkop buckles under water shortage

Residents of Doornkop are buckling under ongoing water shortages.

Anphia Grobler, DA Ward Councillor for Doornkop, has sent videos of residents, capturing the severity of the ongoing water shortages.

The Middelburg Observer reports this week on the 5 000 households suffering from the ongoing water shortages, of which 460 households in Kwamampimpane Village are rate payers.

While residents have relied on communal taps in the street, these taps have run dry, and the provision of water in tankers is not enough to supply the whole area.

In the videos, residents describe how they have to fetch water from a ditch, without knowing where the water comes from, and how this water is used for cooking, consumption and laundry.
