Takalani Mkansi, known as DJ Dosline, died in hospital yesterday shortly after he was struck by a passing vehicle while he was changing a tyre.

A media statement was issued on behalf of the Masina family:

“In loving memory of Takalani Mkansi, known to many as DJ Dosline.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Takalani Mkansi – a devoted father, cherished son, loving brother, cousin, and dear friend.

Takalani, widely known as DJ Dosline, passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, 14 June, following a roadside incident outside Middelburg. He had stopped to change a tyre when he was struck by a passing vehicle. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

More than a DJ, Takalani was a gifted music producer, passionate promoter, and a vibrant force across the broader entertainment, lifestyle, and music culture landscape. His presence was felt far beyond the stage, touching lives throughout Mpumalanga and leaving an imprint on everyone who encountered his work and warmth.

Those who wish to offer their support, share tributes, or stand with the family during this difficult time, are welcome to do so from Monday, 16 June, at the family home: 1393 Hlalakahle Street, Chromeville, Middelburg.

As the Masine family prepares to lay him to rest, we kindly ask for time and space to process this heartbreaking loss.
