Truck overturns on N4, Kranspoort closed after fiery crash
Two accidents have been reported on wet roads.
The N4 between Middelburg and eMalahleni has been partially closed for the recovery of a truck that has overturned.
Trans African Concessions (TRAC) alerted motorists this morning at 07:30 that they are attending to a truck that overturned on the N4 where the Olifants River crosses.
According to video footage and a photo shared on the Traffic Alert group, it appears that the truck was carrying wood, and the load has been spilt. The incident took place in the right lane, in eMalahleni’s direction.
According to a motorist, it does not appear that anyone was injured.
The right lane has been partially cordoned off to allow vehicle recovery.
• The Kranspoort Pass has also been closed due to a collision between a truck and a bakkie. The truck was reportedly carrying diesel and caught fire.
Reports have also been received of a large diesel spill.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
