Watch: Suspects flee with cash after pharmacy burglary

The suspects left behind a trail of damage.

Two suspects remain at large following a burglary at Mtoni Pharmacy in Mhluzi in the early hours of August 30.

Surveillance footage shows the suspects using a crowbar and a pitchfork to force open the pharmacy’s safety gates before ransacking the premises.

A box containing cash and medication was stolen, and several CCTV cameras, one inside and two outside, as well as lights, were damaged during the incident.

Footage indicates that one of the suspects was armed with a firearm, while the other carried a torch.

A case has been opened at the Mhluzi Police Station. Authorities are still awaiting the full CCTV footage before they can advance with their investigation.

• Two days earlier, there was also a burglary at the Roma Church in Mhluzi, where electrical supplies were stolen. No arrests have been made in either case.
