Water shutdown postponed to April 8

Residents will have more time to prepare after the planned water interruption affecting large parts of Middelburg was postponed to allow reservoirs to recover and accommodate the Easter holiday period.

The planned water supply interruption, which was scheduled for Wednesday, March 25 and Wednesday, April 1, has been postponed to April 8.

The shutdown at the Vaalbank water treatment works has been delayed to allow reservoirs to recover to full capacity and to minimise disruption during the Easter holiday period.

Residents urged to stay prepared

Although the interruption has been postponed, residents are still encouraged to prepare in advance for the revised date to avoid inconvenience.

The planned shutdown forms part of ongoing work at the treatment facility aimed at maintaining and improving water supply infrastructure in Middelburg.
