One lane has been opened on the R555.

One lane has been opened following the closure of the R555 while the recovery of a fuel tanker involved in an accident this morning, is underway.

Traffic is moving, but a a snail’s pace.

One lane of the R555 Stoffberg Road has been opened following this morning’s crash between a fuel tanker and an Iveco carrier. There is major traffic congestion, as the road has been closed since 05:00 today, with mostly trucks in the kilometres-long queue.

Motorists should proceed slowly through the bottle neck.

The tanker is still in the road while recovery is underway.

The road has been closed all day, with trucks backed up for kilometres.
