Greatest Train Race, 33rd year in a row

The Rotary GTR race, which was sponsored by Glencore, took place for the 33rd year in a row.

With some changes made through the park and ride system that was implemented, the traffic challenges experienced during the 2018 race was largely eliminated.
12 000 runners enjoyed the event and it was wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of the participants.

Just as the runners were on their spots Saturday morning, all the water point sponsors, sponsors and volunteers were also ready to assist to make sure that the largest charity event in Mpumalanga was a success.

This was the second year that the race ran from Middelburg to eMalahleni which ended at the Witbank Dam. The race finish will return to Middelburg for the 2020 event on 22 August.
