SA Open Water Swimming at Pienaardam

Nkangala District Swimming hosted the Swim SA Open Water Challenge at Pienaardam Resort.

Swimmers competed in different categories from 100m to 10km.

• The results were as follows:

5 000m female – Jordan Minifie in a time of 1:11:28.
5 000m male – Matthew Andrew in a time of 1:08:40.
3 000m girls 13 and under – Annabelle Davel in 49:47.
3 000m boys 13 and under – Eben Terblanche in 51:22.
3 000m women 14-30 years – Marne Frylinck (21) in 45:36.
3 000m men 14-30 years – Leson Visagie in 44:21.
3 000m women 31 and over – Ingred Trusler (60 years old) in 46:20.
1 500m girls 13 and under – Mieke Leonard in a time of 26:24.
1 500m women 14-30 – Enya de Jager (20) in 30:45.
1 500m women 31 and over – Annemarie Smith (51) in 44:11.
1 500m men 14-30 – Bennet Groenewald (15) in a time of 22:06.
1 500m men 31 and over – Bosman Grobler (36) in 34:41.
750m girls 13 and under – Miané Steyn in 18:41.
750m women 31 and over – Mariëtta Hamersma (58) in a time of 23:54.
750m boys 13 and under – Eben Obermeyer in 16:34.
750m men 31 and over – Mark Soal (50) in 23:42.
400m boys 13 and under – Marco de Wet in 9:18.
100m girls 13 and under – Amy Welsh (three years old) in a time of 5:08.
100m boys 13 and under – Hanré de Wet in 5:54.
