Middies shine at Curro Podium Grand Finale
Top athletes from across the country gathered at the Curro Podium Grand Finale at Pilditch Stadium to compete in an event of the highest calibre.
Despite the intense performance level, Hoërskool Middelburg athletes delivered a determined effort, securing 34th place out of 50 schools.
The athletes received the following places:
Boys U/15: Lefa Lebelo (high jump – 1st out of 17 athletes), Trevor Sindane (100m – 22nd out of 62, 200m – 24/50), Tshepo Maphopha (100m – 28/62), Bonga Tau (100m hurdles – 3/35, High Jump – 2/17), Waldo Jansen (shot put – 40/50, discus – 38/42), Hano Grobler (shot put – 30/50, discus – 7/42).
Girls U/15: Jessica de Witt (Javelin – 1/17, long jump – 23/32, ), Alicia de Beer (90m hurdles – 57/61, high jump – 22/31), Vinelle Kaufman (90m hurdles – 43/61, discus – 14/46), Erika Karsten (high jump – 25/31), Christine Karsten (shot put – 36/52), Riani Potgieter (90m hurdles – 28/61, javelin – 9/17).
Boys U/17: Clint Malwane (100m – 46/76), Sinako Skosana (110m hurdles – 37/48), Johan Raulstone (high jump – 20/31, long jump – 48/58), Tjaart Potgieter (javelin – 14/18), Melchior van Niekerk (shot put – 43/65, discus – 27/42).
Girls U/17: Leigh-Ann Young (100m hurdles – 31/35, 400m hurdles – 23/30), Annieka Boshoff (high jump – 13/28), Thelma Moloi (long jump – 16/24).
Boys U/19: Kefilwe Phamotse (100m – 18/47, 200m – 13/43), Jaden Williams (400m hurdles – 16/18, high jump – 11/14), Jaco Truter (shot put – 19/37, discus – 18/34).
Girls U/19: Olwethu Bayisa (triple jump – 4/4).
