Video: Five burn to death
Five people burned to death in a horrific accident on the N4.
Three cars were involved in the accident. Two of them burst into flames.
Bystanders managed to pull a woman from a wreck but had to look on helplessly as her husband burned to death after their Nissan Juke caught fire.
According to eyewitnesses, one of the deceased got out of a Toyota Corolla and seemed to spontaneously combust. It is suspected that he was covered in petrol.
He burned to death next to the Juke whilst four of his companions died inside the Corolla.
The fire spread into the veld next to the N4 and had farmers scrambling with water carts to extinguish it before it turned into a veld fire.
Impatient motorists caused for a major traffic jam blocking ER24 ambulances from getting the only surviving and critically injured patient to hospital.

We have been advised that there had been 4 passengers in the overturned vehicle, that they were black and that none of them survived. Our hearts also go out to their loved ones. We do not know who they are and how to contact them. Please convey our heartfelt condolences to them. It was our daughter, Ilse who had perished in the Duke.

THIS is why I NEVER will purchase one of these modern CRAP ” Matell” dinky toy cars!!!! They “look” stunning- but are the WORST kind of rubbish in a car accident- as scrupulous car manufacturers ventured onto a cut-throat business of manufacturing a piece of scrap from extra thin stretched metal and carbon fiber which is not HALF the car the old models were. This is doe to ” cut costs”- to rip off the customer- and make DOUBLE the money on sales. Mean-while this new crap- IRRESPECTIVE of the badge it brands- is the biggest piece of dangerous highly flammable sponge, carbon fiber electronic gizmo JUNK you can buy.
My friend died in this accident..leaving behind 4 children and 2 grand children..this is so sad!!! May their sould Rest in Peace!!
My uncle lost his life in this horrific accident and we are so sadden as a family to lose such a lively person. He was the pillar of the family. HE is the only father that I ever knew. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
Our friends Bernine and Ilse died in the one car. Bernine was the only survivor but died on the way to the hospital. They were two wonderful, bright and full of live women. We are all so sad and heart broken. Fly high and free RIP Bernine and Ilse. We will always remember you.
