Help child art exhibition

The Middelburg Children's court in conjunction with its social workers hosted an art exhibition at the Banquet hall in order to raise funds and awareness of the organisations project.

Suid-Afrikaanse Vroue Federasie (SAVF) assisted in the administration of funds, the Art House ran the competition which assisted in fundraising, the Middelburg Care Village and Christelike Maatskaplike Raad (CMR) also assisted with fundraising and raising awareness.

The project “Help A Child” was established to assist children who go through any form of abuse in the children’s court.

“Its unfortunate it costs a lot of money and parents or the organisation don’t always have the funds,” said Sanet Du Plessis, acting senior magistrate.

The ongoing project tries to raise funds to help children who are in need of therapy or related treatments.

Ms Du Plessis would like to thanks Gert van der Westhuizen and his team from Middelburg High school, Sarie Vermaak, the committee as well at Tshwenyane Combined School for the successful event.

A video and gallery of performances of the exhibition are available on the Middelburg Observer website. www.mobserver.co.za
