Your child will love making origami lanterns

Light up your child’s room with these fun, colourful, and easy-to-make origami lanterns. This DIY craft is the perfect weekend activity!

Did you know that origami, the ancient art of paper folding, can help improve your child’s thinking skills, fractions, and problem-solving? It can also improve your child’s fine motor skills, and develop their imagination.

We’ve searched YouTube for popular origami crafts and found one we’re sure you and your tween will enjoy making. This origami lantern is perfect for your tween’s room and, best of all, won’t cost you an arm – or leg – to make. All you need is a sheet of coloured cardboard paper!

After you’ve helped your child make several origami Chinese lanterns, you can string them together to make a whole garland!
